Fellow Hunters, Introducing the new Ambush and Ambush Light by Pelican Flats Boats. These vessels are 13' long and 3' wide. They draft 3" loaded and can be powered with a small outboard or trolling motor as well as with a push pole, kayak paddle, or stand up paddle board paddle. The Ambush light weighs only 80lbs and the Ambush weighs only 125lbs. The hunting edition will have a gun rack and be camo-ed out. They can be transported on the roof rack, truck bed, or a small trailer. They are easily carried by two people or one strong person. The Ambush Light pictured has a 2hp aircooled Honda 4Stroke and weighs only 27lbs. Please let us know your thoughts on the vessel as we welcome feedback. Thanks, Pelican Flats Boats www.pelicanflatsboats.com IP: Logged |

Good looking boat for sure. My only concern would be freeboard. How high are the gunnels. Is there any closed cell foam floatation? IP: Logged |

The boats are made with a center stringer and foam floatation on both sides of the stringer making them very buoyant. We just finished shooting a demonstration video showing a two hundred pound guy standing on the very back. The gunwale is 3" on the Ambush and Ambush Light it is 5". They are made will all composite materials and come with a limited lifetime warranty. Thanks for your feedback. IP: Logged |

Thanks for the feedback guys. If you check out our website you will find we currently offer the boat in hunter green with a tan deck. As for the price, they start at $1600 for the Ambush Light and $2400 for the Ambush. That may seem high for some but these vessels are costly to produce as far as labor, materials ( all composite to last a lifetime), and mold making cost go. Everyone who has purchased these vessels love them. They are very unique and look spectacular in person. I posted this on the water foul forum as we have received many calls from people who want to use them as duck hunting vessels. Our demonstration video will be ready by Friday and it will show the stability and maneuverability of the vessel. As for the camo version it is still in the design stages. We rate them up to 6hp but a 2 or 4hp is more than enough. As for posting the yellow and white models, these are colors people have ordered as we build to suit. Thanks for the feedback and feel free to call 813-Pelican to test drive one or to find out more info on how to order your own custom build Ambush. IP: Logged |
