hi guys i am new to the sight and this year was my first time duck hunting, and i have to say i fell in love with it. i have been doing a lot of reading about the layout boats and was wondering how good they do in rough water because i was thinking about building one for hunting in the bays. i noticed that most of the ones like on hybridduckboats.com were kinda small, should i make mine larger to handle the rough water better? I have a hybrid square nose built to hybridduckboats.com specs by Rustybeaver. It is quite stable. Also have a bud who built one about 1 foot longer than spec recently. So the designs are customizable I guess. They are very useful and versatile boats. Will be using mine on small water to do some fishing. IP: Logged |

quote: The reason it is a "hybrid" is because it *IS NOT* a layout boat....and *SHOULD NOT* be used in big water...It is a small water layout/coffin blind "hybrid" IP: Logged |
