I work on Hurby with John. You guys just set a date and it will be easy for me to get away. I'm hunting with him this weekend, so I will meet him then. We should extend this invite to all the Navarre, Gulf Breeze, etc. duck hunters on this also. IP: Logged |

When and where we meeting on Sat AM? I'm still in Hell (DC) but have a 0430 flight out in the AM -- give me enough time to stop in the office at Hurby land and then go home and load the boat on the truck, and see if I can find all my gear ... give me a ring ... IP: Logged |

Hey guys! When is the lunch meeting??? I'd like to join in on the action. I live in Navarre, and just finished my boat blind a couple of weeks ago (well good enough to hunt out of). DuckCommando, after reading this thread.. do you happen to live in HBTS in Navarre? If lunch is on today, let me know! My cell is 217-4002... Thx, Lyn IP: Logged |

Looks like I missed page 2 of the thread. YOu guys are meeting at Taco Town on 98 on the 22nd? What about this weekend's action. I live in Robledal and am a gate key owner to the boat ramp. I went to the mouth of the Yellow a couple of weeks ago late in the afternoon, mainly to scout. Saw a few, but morning has to be better. Anyway, it's a 10 minute boat ride from our ramp in Robledal, so if you guys are interested in launching there -- I'm game. Like most of you, FL duck hunting (sea ducks) is all new to me too. I'm a Mississippi Delta hunter which is where I am from originally. Somebody give me a yell is this weekend is in.. 217-4002 Thx, Lyn IP: Logged |

DANG! I'm leaving for TDY on Sunday AM and will be gone till Lord only knows when ... I want to hook up with all you guys (we all seem to puddler hunters, pretty much out of our league with this enviornment). I'll check in here from TDY and see how the lunch meeting goes -- and it's even at Taco Town ... timing is everything, and I usually have nothin! IP: Logged |

Dang it John, I was hoping you would be around next week. Back to the Pentagram in D.C. again? I think I located you in the global today at work....if you have the ability to access your hurby account via webmail I shot you all of my contact info. Next time you are in town drop me a line and we will definitely get together.

Mmmmmmm, tacos..... I live in Navarre, I think I just found some new friends........ I work/hunt with Drafter, this has been one of the most interesting of duck seasons, I can think of nothing that gets our brains working more than getting after them ducks...... Three new birds for the wall this year, come on Mr. Canvasback, I see you sneaking around...... IP: Logged |

Well Lyn and I busted some birds this morning where the yellow river and the bay meet. Dropped a Merganser and a sweet Bufflehead drake. Now...we SHOULD have had like 10 birds on the water but.....Anyways, we saw a bunch of ducks..mostly Buffleheads, Teal, and even a Mallard drake w/hen. We killed some other birds also, but we weren't too sure of what species they were. They all look the same when they are flying 100 mph.. LUNCH MONDAY @ TACO TOWN....DON'T FORGET!!!! IP: Logged |

Weatherman and I gave it a shot this A.M., we would have had a chance at a limit of readheads if we hadn't talked ourselves into setting up different than we did last time. Still lots of birds on the sound, could have taken our limits with a sling shot and a fishing net on the way to our spot before sunrise. Looking forward to Taco Town.......I'll bring a decoy and set it on the table so everyone knows who to look for! --Scott IP: Logged |

Drafter & Weatherman: Glad you guys got out this morning to try to bust a few! Were you in the Sound betw. Navarre and P'cola? I posted some pictures from mine and DuckCommando's hunt this morning on my MCHSI web space -- added the link below so see if you can arrow through the slides. I didn't want to try to learn to add a photo to this site today. The hunt was a Blast! Like DuckCommando said it should have been more productive, but just getting out there is always super satisfying... I'm hoping to get out again this weekend! Looking forward to meeting everybody at Taco Town. Scott's decoy idea is a good one,, I was thinking everyone should wear their duck calls LOL. I haven't been to Taco Town lately... is Monday still 49Cent taco day.. I can scarf down 5 or 6. John, we'll see you after your trip, hopefully you can get back for a hunt for the last weekend. Later, IP: Logged |

Lyn, sweet pics man. Who is that stud in the other pics? Hey, I was right about that being a Bufflehead. I tried looking for those "other" ducks we busted, but I couldn't find them on the net. Did you do any research? IP: Logged |

Nice pics fellas! Weatherman and I could have used your boat blind yesterday A.M., our makeshift blind made it about 2 minutes in the strong wind and cement bottom. Aren't those drake buffleheads pretty birds? They are a blast to watch buzz around in your decoys. See ya all at Noon...... Scott IP: Logged |

The duck boat blind has turned out to be a good investment...although I probably could have purchased one for what I've put into this one, but that wouldn't have been near as fun or time consuming! LOL. A flip-back top will be designed and installed by next season, which will include a Avery raintop. Thought about getting out on the Yellow River this morning, but was held captive by sleep! Unfortunately, it's killed many a duck hunt for many duck hunters. Pretty windy out there this morning and looks like rain.. so oh well. Lot's of good NFL action this afternoon anyway. See you guys tomorrow.. Lyn IP: Logged |
