I noticed that the only place in Florida that you can legally hunt geese on is Lake Seminole. Anybody ever tried 'em? I was seriously addicted to goose huntin' when I lived in VA. Man, those big, giant things comin' in at full speed honkin' away...Trust me that's the only thing that I miss about living up there.

I put on dekes for them on the nole last weekend. APparently they catch on pretty quick up there. Worth a shot in the early season in September. It is nuts you can't hunt them anywhere else. Same with the light geese only south of the Suwanee. Opps there goes a Whooping crane, I thought it was a snow goose.

Hey, talk to me about the light geese. Where are they in FL?

I figure I'll try Canada's at Seminole next September. In spite of popular opinion, you're right, they ain't dumb.

if you do the canadas in early september season, I would wait until later in september. We went opening weekend over the labor day weekend and the only geese we saw were at the prison. The biologist said that the geese don't generally begin to show until later in september. just my .02

Never been up to seminole but i would guess with only one lake to hunt geese in florida that it would get pretty crazy!! I used to hunt geese when i lived out in oklahoma a few years back but since ive been living here ive only seen one flock of about 7 snow geese that were flying over my house last season here in melbourne...never thought i would have seen that!!
